Reading a permit number
PC 074 010 24 A0118: type (PC = building permit, DP = prior declaration), département in 3 digits, town (end of its INSEE code), year of application, then the file number within the town. Two different towns can have an « A0118 » file in the same year.
In real life: in France the building-site sign is mandatory and visible from the street; granted permits are posted at the town hall, published by some towns and in the national Sitadel database. A number read on a photo is often enough to locate a building site.
